Oviedo land in Almería just five hours before kickoff
A problem with the planned plane delayed Oviedo's flight from Asturias by more than four hours; the match against the league leaders is at 21:00 tonight.
Real Oviedo landed in Almería at 16:15, just five hours before their visit to UD Almería, set for 21:00 tonight. According to MARCA, the morning went wrong early: the charter due to leave Asturias Airport at 10:30 never took off, because the assigned plane never arrived, due to a fault unrelated to the weather or airport operations.
The squad waited for hours at the airport until a replacement aircraft sent from Valencia touched down in Asturias shortly after 14:15. After a rushed boarding, the flight of around an hour and a quarter went without incident.
On arrival, the club bus was already waiting at the terminal to take players and staff to the hotel, where a small group of Oviedo fans greeted them. Julián Calero said there are big games in this division and this is one of them, as they face the LaLiga Hypermotion leaders.
