Atlético targets Oct 10 for Pablo Barrios’s return at Alavés after his low-grade right-leg injury.
Pablo Barrios, of Atlético de Madrid, stepped up his recovery with a solo session this Thursday at Cerro del Espino in Majadahonda, working alongside readaptador físico Iván Cruz. As Mundo Deportivo reports, he moved from short passes to longer touches and finished with shots on goal, suggesting he’s close to being back to full training.
Barrios suffered the injury on September 9 at Anfield against Liverpool. After the match, tests in Madrid confirmed a low-grade myofascial injury in his right leg, keeping him out of games versus Real Sociedad, Osasuna and Real Madrid.
Atlético now hopes he can rejoin the rest of the squad after the international break, with a return at Mendizorroza vs Alavés on October 10 if there’s no setback.
