Pacheta warns: Granada-Burgos will be about hard duels and second balls

The Granada coach looks to El Plantío and highlights Owen Emeka’s return as a “blessed problem” for matchday 9.

Granada coach José Rojo “Pacheta” is preparing for Granada vs Burgos on Monday at El Plantío for LaLiga Hypermotion’s ninth round. His message is direct: “a complex game, with hard duels and second balls,” and he expects his side to be ready both “with and without the ball” to get a positive result.

In the build-up, Pacheta pointed to the last match’s comeback win over Real Sociedad B (2-3 after trailing 2-0 at the break) as “a lot of learning.” “It’s always more satisfying to learn from a win, although big achievements come from learning from defeats,” he said. He added that the immediate goal is “to be more together” and “to have the ball well” to become “decisive.”

Busy schedule and minutes for all

Pacheta sees Burgos as a team that has run things well for “several seasons,” with “the same sporting direction and the same ownership.” On team selection, the return of Owen Emeka is a “blessed problem” because there is “a lot of competition in every position.” He also warned they’ll play “four matches in the next seventeen days” and that minutes should come for those fit, including Baila Diallo and Kader Bamba, while noting that they need care “so there are no setbacks.”
