Pau Quesada and Real Madrid: “we can play a great game”

Real Madrid’s coach heads into the women’s Clasico vs Barcelona after two straight 1-1 draws, including the PSG match.

Pau Quesada, Real Madrid’s coach, approaches his first women’s Clasico against Barcelona this Sunday with confidence after the team’s recent run. Real Madrid go into the derby unbeaten following 1-1 draws vs Manchester City and PSG, results that helped them “recover good sensations” and arrive “reinforced”, as Mundo Deportivo reports.

“The group benefits a lot from this kind of match. It lets us reconnect with good feelings and see what we’re capable of in such big settings,” the Madrid coach said. He expects a “complete” Barcelona, highlighting their renewed squad, and believes the key is handling the periods of blue-and-red dominance while making their own chances count: “We’ll also have opportunities to hurt them and moments to be protagonists with the ball.”

As a reference, Quesada pointed to Real Madrid’s game vs City, when they packed players inside before speeding up and improving conditions for their back line. “I’m really looking forward to seeing how we arrive. I’m convinced we can play a great game,” he added.
