Pau Víctor’s bleeding foot: Braga fumes at VAR after Gil Vicente

Sporting Braga lost 1-2 to Gil Vicente and demanded answers, pointing to two key incidents including the one that left Pau Víctor’s foot bleeding.

Sporting Braga lashed out at the officiating after a 1-2 defeat to Gil Vicente, with the club highlighting the bleeding injury to Pau Víctor (Braga) following a tackle that came before the visitors’ 1-1 equaliser. Communication director Alexandre Carvalho posted a photo of the forward’s bruised ankle and wrote: “Where is VAR once again? Have shame. Enough amateurism.”

Carvalho also shared a video from the final moments involving Ricardo Horta, when Braga claimed a penalty. He insisted that “this is what Pau Víctor’s foot looks like in the play that leads to Gil Vicente’s equaliser (1-1)” and added that there was “a clear penalty” at the end.

Pau Víctor echoed the anger after the match, saying he wanted explanations: “I don’t know why they don’t whistle a play where I end with my sock half full of blood and then Gil Vicente scores.”
