Paulo Gazzaniga is a serious doubt: Girona will decide after tests vs Andorra
The Argentine keeper was subbed off against Tenerife with a glute complaint and Girona has ordered new medical checks for the Andorra match.
Paulo Gazzaniga, Girona’s keeper, is in doubt for the clash with FC Andorra after leaving the pitch at half-time in the last game against Tenerife with a glute problem. What initially looked minor has pushed the club to run new medical tests to determine the exact extent of the issue.
Gazzaniga played the first 45 minutes before Quique Álvarez made a change, bringing on Vladyslav Krapyvtsov for the second half. After the match, the manager sounded relatively calm: early signs did not seem to point to a major injury. Still, over the following 48 hours, the medical staff requested further examinations.
The timing is especially important given how September had gone for the goalkeeper—he regained prominence with key performances versus Sporting, Castellón and especially Albacete. With no final diagnosis or recovery timeline yet, Girona will have to decide whether to risk him; if he can’t make it, Krapyvtsov looks set to take the start. The next few hours are crucial, as Mundo Deportivo reports.
