Peio Canales called up for Spain U21: Athletic covered for the FIFA window
Peio Canales joins Spain U21 for the Tuesday clash vs Romania in Ibiza, with qualification for the U21 Euros on the line.
Athletic Club will have another international on the FIFA window run-in: Peio Canales has been called up to Spain U21 for the Tuesday match against Romania in Ibiza.
As Mundo Deportivo reports, Canales will go together with Chupe to cover the absences of Jesús Rodríguez (suspended) and Carlos Espí (called up with the senior side). David Gordo’s group is aiming to seal a place in the U21 Euros in the final round of the qualification phase.
The rest of Athletic’s internationals also play. Unai Simón and Laporte face the Czech Republic with Spain in the Nations League at Carlos Tartiere (20.45). Nico Williams won’t travel, as he is back in Bilbao after a muscular injury.
