Perú Nolaskoain looks ready to debut as a centre-back for Eibar
After six months out with an ankle sprain, the Eibar defender could be in the squad for Sunday’s trip to Oviedo.
Perú Nolaskoain, from Eibar, is getting closer to his return after six months sidelined by an ankle sprain and has a strong chance of making the group for Sunday’s match at Oviedo.
The Guipúzcoa native said recovery included “very bad days” but stressed he kept doing the work he could control. He also expects to regain match sharpness quickly: “I think I’ll get match fit fast.” Nolaskoain added that seeing Eibar’s form—21 points from 24 possible—while he was unavailable pushed him to come back even sooner: “Not being able to be there has made me come back faster.”
He also addressed his role change. “Right now I feel very good as a centre-back,” he said, explaining he switched his number because he didn’t like the look with the 8 and wants to settle into that position.
