Peter Gulacsi returns to training with Villarreal after armed robbery

Villarreal’s Peter Gulacsi returned to training this Thursday after missing last Tuesday’s match due to an armed robbery at his home.

As reported by MARCA, the keeper’s house in Puzol was broken into early Monday while he and his family were asleep. The attackers threatened them with a weapon and kept them there for nearly an hour, taking items including designer bags and luxury watches.

The emotional impact prevented Gulacsi from playing on Tuesday against Napoli. He rejoined the squad on Thursday and is expected to be in the squad for Saturday’s match versus Elche.

On social media, Gulacsi thanked everyone for their support and asked for privacy, writing: “The events of Monday night were deeply traumatic… we are, above all, grateful that our family is safe.”
