Pierre Sage, Crystal Palace’s coach, spoke ahead of the game against Olympique Lyonnais this Thursday (18:45) for Europa League matchday 2. In the buildup, the manager made it clear he still feels deeply connected to the city he previously led, even after moving to London: “When I’m asked where I live, even if I’m London-based today, I say Lyon.”

As L’Équipe reports, those words land as another nod to his time at the helm of OL, just before this new reunion. For Pierre Sage, his Lyon ties remain part of who he is when the fixture comes with Crystal Palace and the spotlight is on Europe.
