Possible Deportivo XI with Hidalgo vs Betis

Deportivo host Real Betis this Sunday at Riazor (18:30) for LaLiga matchday 7, with the Blanquiazul side in seventh and the visitors third. As Sport reports, Antonio Hidalgo already made up to five changes to his starting XI in the game against Sevilla, but this weekend he could revert to his usual plan despite a virus hitting the dressing room. There are still uncertainties that won’t be fully cleared until matchday, since the club does not publish a squad list.

Changes and fitness doubts

Sport’s suggested XI keeps Leo Román in goal, aiming for continuity, though the goalkeeper is yet to record a clean sheet and remains more questionable on his decision-making when coming off his line. The defence looks set to readjust with the return of Ximo Navarro and Giacomo Quagliata at the full-back positions, while Angeliño’s situation after his red would shape the options, and Adrià Altimira could start on the right. Giménez would keep his spot in the centre, though his partner could be different. Miguel Loureiro is named as the only real doubt in the back line.

Midfield and attack

Sport also points to a mid-block of four midfielders: Mario Soriano returns to the starting XI after being used as a substitute for the first time in 82 matches against Sevilla. He’d be joined by Casadó (rested after not playing), Luismi and, presumptively, Amatucci—with the caveat that the Italian could be replaced if he isn’t fully fit, despite having played the full 90. Up top, if the system doesn’t change, Bil Nsongo and Aubameyang would be the attacking options, with the Cameroon winger having played only 45 minutes versus Sevilla.

All of this is conditional on the medical status of the squad, Sport adds, mentioning concerns around Adama Traoré and Yeremay, plus reduced trust in David Mella, who hasn’t appeared since matchday two. Meanwhile, the Betis side have Diego Llorente and Ruibal ruled out. After using rotations against Getafe, they are expected to field their ideal XI, with Sport highlighting the question of whether Cucho Hernández or Parrott starts alongside Riquelme on the left.
