PSG-OL could be postponed as authorities consider a police report in Paris
The Ligue 1 match at the Parc des Princes on Sunday 20:45 is in doubt after a decision by Paris police authorities.
PSG-OL, the Ligue 1 8th-round fixture scheduled for Sunday at 20:45 at the Parc des Princes, could be postponed following a decision by the Paris police prefecture, according to RMC Sport.
The move would be linked to an “exceptional” mobilization of law enforcement as another weekend of demonstrations is expected in the French capital, on top of the security resources required for a regular-season NFL game at the Stade de France. On Saturday, October 17, Paris saw episodes of violence and looting during a protest against the high cost of living.
Schedule in jeopardy
The new date for PSG-OL could affect the club’s calendar and the presence of its players for the Ballon d’Or 2026 ceremony, set for Monday in London. Last year, the one-day postponement of OM-PSG created a clash with the awards event.
For now, Ousmane Dembélé, Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes—currently injured—won’t play against Lyon and are expected to be part of the Paris delegation to London. The rest of the squad will depend on when the match is rescheduled. Other games from matchday 8 were also moved due to the political climate, including Toulouse-Troyes (Saturday 17:15 to Sunday 17:15) and Montpellier-Red Star, shifted to Monday, October 26.
