Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong eye return as Barcelona set for Betis
Barcelona train Thursday with Saturday’s Betis clash (18:30) ahead, weighing the returns of De Jong and Raphinha after injuries.
Barcelona resume training this Thursday at the Ciutat Esportiva after their 1-4 Champions League win over Galatasaray, turning their focus to Saturday’s trip to face Real Betis (18:30). The day’s main talking point is Frenkie de Jong (FC Barcelona) and Raphinha (FC Barcelona).
Raphinha is recovering from an edema in the back of the thigh, suffered on 29 September with Brazil against Australia. The winger has already been training with the group for more than a week and is still waiting for medical clearance. Today he could join the team session and, depending on how he feels, decide whether he travels to Seville.

De Jong continues his rehab on his right knee after picking up the injury at the World Cup, following a conservative treatment plan. He too has been back with the group for over a week. According to Hansi Flick’s press conference, he believes he can have De Jong available for the Betis squad. The coach will decide, together with the medical staff and the players, whether they make the trip with both, just one, or none.
