Rayo fans sue the RFEF over Vallecas fondo closure
The case is filed with Madrid’s TSJM after a €6,000 fine and the partial shut of the stand above the changing rooms.
Rayo Vallecano’s supporters have filed a lawsuit against the RFEF at the Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Madrid over the partial closure of the Vallecas “fondo”, following a sanction that also included a €6,000 fine.
As MARCA reports, the plaintiffs include the Madrid federation of supporters, ten Rayo fan groups and 22 season-ticket holders from the affected stand. The legal defence is led by Javier Flores.
In the claim, they argue the federation imposed a “collective punishment” and they cite alleged breaches of four constitutional rights: legality and the personal nature of penalties, the presumption of innocence, the right to defend oneself without being left defenseless, and equality.
They ask the court to declare the rights violation, overturn the closure and recognize the fans’ right not to lose access to their seats for events not attributed to them. They also add two subsidiary requests about how blocks should be defined and a minimum rebooking option for those who were not involved.
For the match against Elche, the TSJM keeps the stand closed due to timing, while leaving the main issue open.
