Rayo Vallecano vs Elche: possible pitch invasion and match suspension
SER Elche warns of more object-throwing in Vallecas. Referee could stop the game as fans prepare 5,000 duplicate season tickets and 8,500 rubber balls.
The upcoming Rayo Vallecano–Elche match in Vallecas on Saturday at 14:00 arrives with fears of a repeat after what happened in Rayo–Athletic, when the game was suspended after just 13 minutes.
As reported by SER Elche, there could be another round of object-throwing, and if the referee does not halt the match, there is even talk of a potential pitch invasion.
Tension returns at Vallecas
Two weeks ago, supporters took their protests against the board to the limit: they threw marbles and paper planes with messages aimed at Presa. The referee had to stop play twice, and on the third occasion he suspended the match permanently.
Protest plan for the next game
For the clash against Elche, SER Elche says the home players will not take part in the first minute. The crowd also plans to throw 5,000 duplicate season tickets bearing Presa’s face and 8,500 rubber balls, with an invasion possible from the sides of the pitch if the game is not stopped.
