Real Betis start hot in the Champions League: chasing Top 8 and €70m
Betis are fifth after three straight wins and have a 99% chance of finishing in the Top 24, with a 47.9% shot at the Top 8.
Real Betis have turned their Champions League start into a real opportunity: three wins in a row leave them fifth, with a 99% chance of ending inside the Top 24. They are currently in that bracket, and a move into the Top 8 is also on the table thanks to a 47.9% probability.
Top 8 means direct octavos
Finishing in the top eight would give direct access to the round of 16 and avoid the playoff. It would also boost the club’s income projection: the piece suggests a standout European run could exceed €70m, landing between €70m and €75m, although that total isn’t guaranteed purely by the Top 8 position.
That momentum has pushed Betis to 19th in the UEFA club rankings, ahead of Chelsea, Milan and Manchester United. Wins by Betis alongside Real Madrid also have Spain provisionally second in Europe’s coefficient race; if it holds one of the top two places by season’s end, LaLiga earns an extra spot in the 2027/28 Champions League league phase.
Tough remaining fixtures
With five matchdays left, the team coached by Manuel Pellegrini has already surpassed the five points the club had budgeted as an income reference under LaLiga rules. The Top 24 looks close even with as few as nine points, while Top 8 would likely require 15 or 16. Betis still have Borussia Dortmund, Slovan Bratislava, Como 1907, Arsenal and Bayern Munich to play. Pellegrini said they “have taken a giant step forward”, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
