Real Madrid boosts signings value by €526m, CIES report says

CIES’ study (excluding academy players) counts €27m in realized plus-values and highlights Mbappé and Arda Güler.

Real Madrid has raised the value of its signings by €526 million over the past five years, according to a report from the CIES Football Observatory published this Friday, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. The study tracks how the players’ value has moved, leaves out academy products, and compares money paid and received for players already sold with current transfer values for those still at the club.

Of the total, €27 million comes from realized plus-values tied to players who have left the club permanently. The remainder are “virtual plus-values”: CIES says half of that comes from Kylian Mbappé—whose current value is stated at over €160 million after joining as a free agent—and Arda Güler, signed for €30 million and now valued at 125.

Among Spanish clubs, Villarreal leads with +387, followed by Real Betis (+294) and Celta de Vigo (+171), then Elche (+120). Valencia (+102), Girona (+101), Atlético Madrid (+100) and Sevilla (+92) are also positive. In other European leagues, Eintracht Frankfurt (+527), Paris Saint-Germain (+490), Benfica (+488) and Manchester City (+447) post the strongest results, while Al-Hilal (-502) and Manchester United (-405) sit among the biggest decliners.
