Real Sociedad face a brutal 8 games in 28 days before November break

It starts on 11 October vs Deportivo, with Union Saint-Gilloise, Málaga, Lillestrøm and Levante coming up next.

Real Sociedad begin this Sunday 11 October with a crucial stretch: 8 matches in 28 days before the November international window, after closing a three-week international break.

A week, multiple fronts

The run starts at home as they host Deportivo de La Coruña, then moves to Belgium for Union Saint-Gilloise on Thursday 15. The Sunday 18 clash takes them to La Rosaleda against Málaga, and the European trip continues on Thursday 22 against Lillestrøm. The week closes back in Donostia on Sunday 25 against Levante.

Derby and the final games

After the Levante match, the squad gets its “oasis” with a full week without a midweek fixture. On Sunday 1 November, the first official Basque derby of the season comes at San Mamés vs Athletic Club. Then Thursday 5 November sees Olympique de Lyon visiting Anoeta, and the block ends on Sunday 8 with a home game vs Rayo Vallecano, with the kick-off time still to be confirmed.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Matarazzo scheduled a day off for the group and will train without the internationals almost until the end, with Héctor Fort’s physical issues, the workload of Aihen Muñoz and Arsen Zakharyan, and the post-break form of key players all expected to matter.
