Real Sociedad vs Deportivo is the latest blanquiazul duel for Europe
Real aim to snap a home slide; Deportivo travel with Yeremay stepping in for injured Aubameyang.
Real Sociedad and Deportivo La Coruña face off in Primera with the prize of finishing the matchday in European places. The Basques want to stop a run of results that has left them with three straight defeats across LaLiga and Europe, and they’re especially targeting Anoeta, where they haven’t won in more than a month.
Form and key absences
After the international break, coach Matarazzo has lost Aramburu. Fort is back in time, but the starting XI could lean more defensively with Beitia or Zubeldia, supported at the back by Jon Martín and Sarr, while Sergio Gómez would play at left-back. Gorrotxategi, Soler and Sucic would be in midfield, with Oyarzabal leading the attack and Barrenetxea and Guedes likely on the flanks.
Matarazzo also set the tone: “If we win, will we be sixth? Right now it’s more important to get points, confidence and good football than the position itself.”
Yeremay’s role for Deportivo
Deportivo arrive with Aubameyang, Casadó and Eddahchouri unavailable. With Óscarsson and Aubameyang among the sidelined options, Yeremay is the main name expected to take a step forward and fill the gap left by the scorer. Antonio Hidalgo’s game plan points to the wide areas, with Yeremay plus Mella or Luismi to drive past the home side.
With Europe in play, Oyarzabal and Yeremay are expected to either open their scoring in this LaLiga match or add assists to help both teams move into the top areas, as highlighted by MARCA.
