Referee Adrián Cordero Vega reports bottles thrown at Levante-Sevilla (3-3)

The referee’s report says at 95’ plastic bottles and cups were thrown after Sevilla’s 2-3. The match finished 3-3.

In the match report for Levante vs Sevilla, referee Adrián Cordero Vega denounces the throwing of “a multitude of plastic bottles, cups and other objects” during Sevilla’s celebration of the 2-3 goal in the 95th minute. The game, played last Monday at Ciutat de València, still ended 3-3.

According to the referee, supporters identified by local-shirt colors launched the items toward the goal celebration area, “without any of them hitting” anyone during that moment. He says they then activated “step 1” of the protocol for throws and objects, and the match was resumed with no further incidents. However, some social-media images appear to show at least one bottle hitting Sevilla’s group and another striking Juan Iglesias’ leg after a fall.

The episode coincided with Isaac Romero’s sending off after a second yellow card for a provocative ‘shushing’ gesture. After the match, Sevilla coach Luís García said in his press conference that “they hit him with a bottle” late on, adding that officials should identify “the people who throw a bottle” anywhere.
