Roberto Mancini’s Italy, with Moise Kean not fit, aim to keep growing vs Turkey
Coming off a 1-1 with France, the Azzurra face Turkey—last in Group A1 with zero points on the board.
Italy, coached by Roberto Mancini, wants to keep building after the 1-1 draw with France in Saint-Denis as they take on Turkey in Group A1 of the Nations League. The Turkish side arrive as bottom of the group with no points yet.
Mancini’s set-up is affected on the Turkish side: alongside injured absences for Hakan Calhanoglu and Kenan Yildiz, Arda Güler and Baris Alper Yilmaz are also missing due to suspension. Turkey’s XI is Çakir; Kabak, Demiral, Çelik; Kadioglu, Özcan, Yüksek, Elmali; Akgün, Aktürkogly and Deniz Gul.
Changes in the Azzurra
Mancini also stated that Moise Kean “has not recovered” and that Scamacca could start instead of Pio Esposito. That would leave Sebastiano Esposito on the left side of the attack. Italy’s starting lineup is Donnarumma; Kayode, Scalvini, Bastoni, Calafiori; Barella, Tonali, Frattesi; Vergara, Scamacca and Sebastiano Esposito.
Even after the 1-4 win last Monday in Bursa, Mancini warned that “Turkey is a strong team” and insisted there is no risk of underestimating their opponent, as Mundo Deportivo reports.
