Rubén Albés sets the tone: Leganés take on Castellón’s leaders

Ahead of the match, Rubén Albés—head coach of CD Leganés—said in his press conference that Castellón are “the best team in the division so far”, but insisted Leganés can take them on “straight on”. He believes the game will show how close his side is to the current leaders, and even hinted they could come out on top.

Albés pointed to the visitors’ run: Castellón arrive unbeaten with 16 points from the first 18. Still, he doesn’t see Leganés being inferior. The coach also confirmed Ismael Gharbi won’t be available because he’s called up by his national team, which could mean a return for Álvaro Morata after he started from the bench in the last game against Granada.

Castellón also said this week that the away tickets for the Monday 20:30 visit to Butarque are sold out. Around 500 “orellut” fans are expected in the away end, after filling the away allocation at Montilivi against Girona earlier this season.
