The Italian-Portuguese whistleblower claims the FIFA president was fully aware of what was going on and argues that, due to his role in the matter involving the Manchester City, he “shouldn’t have a place” in the sport’s future.

In his account, Rui Pinto says Infantino—when he was UEFA’s general secretary—abused his authority and leaked confidential documents so that Manchester City and PSG would only face a fine, preventing a more far-reaching investigation that could have led to exclusion from the Champions League. Pinto also notes Infantino is “under pressure” a few months ahead of the 2027 elections, tying the remarks to the moment.
