Sebastian Hoeneß admits faults as VfB beat Paderborn 2-0

Despite the 2-0 win, Hoeneß said VfB needed plenty of defensive work and made wrong calls in the final third.

Sebastian Hoeneß, VfB Stuttgart’s head coach, assessed the 2-0 victory over SC Paderborn, but admitted it wasn’t quite how they had imagined it. In comments reported by kicker, he said his side had to do a lot of defensive work to get the job done.

Hoeneß also pointed to the finish: in his view, in the last stretch VfB made wrong decisions, which hurt their ability to manage the game even with the win in hand.
