Sergio Ruiz operated on meniscus: two months out at Las Palmas

Sergio Ruiz (Las Palmas) has undergone surgery for a meniscus injury and will miss two months, according to MARCA. The midfielder has been out since August 28, and the setback adds to an already packed treatment room.

For the match tomorrow against Valladolid, coach Rubén de la Barrera has to plan without 11 players. Along with Ruiz, injuries keep out Marvin, Clemente, Recoba, Viti, Cedeño and Ale García. The absences are completed by the suspension of Iñaki and the international call-ups of Herzog and Rafa Cruz.

The coach also acknowledged Sandro in his briefing. “I don’t see myself as a victim of anything. I’m a coach and my job is to do what’s within my reach so this goes well,” he said in the press room.
