Serrajordi returns as Barcelona women look for a late signing

Clara Serrajordi, the FC Barcelona midfielder, is back in the squad for the trip to Vitoria to face Deportivo Alavés in Liga F as Barça play their fourth league match. As Mundo Deportivo reports, she has already been cleared to return after recovering from a fracture in the right arm’s radius, and it will be her first appearance this season.

Battered by absences

Elsewhere, the list is shaped by injuries and international duty. Cata Coll misses out to rest, while Mundo Deportivo also points to the sidelined Aitana, Paredes, Laia Aleixandri and Van Asten. In addition, international players Aïcha Camara and Carla Julià are not available, as they have been called up with Spain Under-20.

With those gaps, coach Pere Romeu has added several young players from the youth ranks: Martina González, Daniela Martínez, Carolina Ferrera, Lúa Arufe and Mayssa.

Romeu wants one more signing

The bigger focus is the squad’s depth and the transfer window. Mundo Deportivo says Romeu expects the club to secure an additional signing before the market closes this coming Friday, and that sporting directorate is actively working on it. The goal, according to the coach, is a new player for the full-back/lateral position.

Romeu also gave the contingency plan: if no signing arrives, Barça will promote a player from the B team to join the first team on a permanent basis. With the current league momentum—three wins from the start and just two goals conceded against Atlético—Barça head into Vitoria as clear favourites against an Alavés side that has won twice this season.
