Sevilla files complaint to LaLiga over Bernabéu broadcast after Oct 18
The club asks LaLiga’s Competitions for explanations, citing VAR and replay issues in Real Madrid-Sevilla on October 18, 2026.
Sevilla has sent a formal complaint to LaLiga after Real Madrid-Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday, October 18, 2026, following a meeting on Tuesday with the Technical Arbitration Committee, as Mundo Deportivo reports. In the written request signed by president José María del Nido Carrasco, the club questions the match’s broadcast production and the handling of several incidents.
What Sevilla is asking for
The club highlights four key moments: Cucurella’s challenge on Peque (potential penalty) without suitable replays; Arda Güler’s blow on Peque (possible red card) shown only from distant angles without a “magnifying” tool; Konaté’s foul on Robbie Ure before the second Real Madrid goal; and a penalty awarded to Mbappé, which allegedly included many more replay views.
Dispute over LaLiga’s criteria
Sevilla also claims those incidents were omitted from the official match summary and requests the production plan (cameras, angles and staff decisions), delivery of all raw footage, preservation of recordings, and the protocols governing production and official summaries. The club links its criticism to comments by Sergio Carranza Lezcano on COPE and ends by stressing its “disagreement” with the CTA criteria discussed at Tuesday’s meeting.
