Sevilla release squad list vs Barcelona with two big updates

Sevilla have published their 25-man squad for their LaLiga EA Sports clash against FC Barcelona, the league leaders, to be played this Saturday at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium (21:00), as reported by Mundo Deportivo. Luis García Plaza’s list includes two notable returns alongside two confirmed absences.

Sangante and Guillén back

The headline change is the return of French centre-back Arouna Sangante, recovered from a sprained ankle picked up in the match against Espanyol where he was also sent off. Due to that suspension and the injury, he was unavailable for the games vs Valencia and Deportivo at Riazor. The other positive boost is the presence of youngster Nico Guillén.

García Plaza also left one question mark: he said Kike Salas will be assessed again this Saturday to see whether he can be involved, and he hinted that one player might either start or miss even the bench. That’s part of why Sevilla have called up 25 players.

Confirmed injuries and Barça warning

The confirmed absences are Lucas Stassin (right adductor injury, expected to keep him out for three to four weeks) and Rubén Vargas (ongoing knee recovery with persistent discomfort).

As Mundo Deportivo notes, García Plaza underlined the challenge of the opponent, saying “an incredible Barça.”
