Simeone trains with full Atlético squad for the second time
Second preseason session with no absences: Atlético prepares for Saturday’s clash vs Alavés (16:15).
Diego Pablo Simeone trained for the second time this season with the entire squad available at Atlético de Madrid, after the last international players returned from the World Cup and the international break. Mundo Deportivo reports that earlier absences had prevented the coach from having everyone together.
The only notable exception was Sorloth, who had managed just one training session before the later arrivals completed the group. The club also brought up the derby controversy: Ortega said, “Nos tiene que tocar alguna vez”.
The session started with two separate rondos, then the groups merged for passing-based activation work. Later, in a smaller pitch, players including Kang-in Lee, Cuti Romero, Julián Álvarez, Jonathan David and Obed Vargas worked together.
Atlético gave few hints about the starting XI for Saturday’s match against Alavés, kick-off at 16:15.
