Sonya Keefe, the Chilean forward for Real Sociedad, finally made her debut with 15 minutes on the pitch after coming on in the 76th minute during Real’s rout of Heart of Midlothian. The win also featured a clean sheet and allowed the side to advance in the Europa Cup.
Keefe, 23, arrived from Granada, where she scored 11 goals last season, but a pubis issue knocked her out early in pre-season, even before the first friendly. From there, she gradually worked back until the perfect moment came in the match against the Hearts.
