Sporting faces Asturian derby with Bruno Rubio in doubt

The Asturian derby is on the horizon and Sporting’s medical report is already taking its toll. As Sport reports, Bruno Rubio is practically ruled out for the next Sunday match: the forward was forced to leave the game vs FC Andorra with hamstring discomfort and will undergo a deeper assessment today and tomorrow.

Sport adds that, before the analysis results, the initial expectation is that he could be sidelined for several weeks, although the club will wait for the tests before confirming a final timeline. Rubio has been one of Mareo’s standout breakouts this start of the league, and despite flashes of quality in Andorra, the issue ended up forcing his early exit.

Late fitness doubts

The other major uncertainty is Konrad de la Fuente. Sport says the winger did not travel to Andorra due to physical problems and will be evaluated over the next few days. His availability for the derby is not ruled out: he will train to test himself during the week, and his progress will determine whether he can be ready for Oviedo.

Larcamón adjusts plans

Sport also confirms more absences for the derby. Gaspar Campos is still in the recovery process and is considered very unlikely to make it, while Hugo Guillamón is out. Andrés Ferrari will also miss the match, with his return still far off and no specific return date set by Sporting.

On the training front, Nicolás Larcamón has scheduled the squad to train this Tuesday at Mareo, while granting today off after the return from Andorra via Barcelona. The medical situation is, once again, setting the pace for what Sporting can field in the derby.
