Sporting host LASK at José Alvalade aiming for 3rd European win
Sporting vs LASK kicks off at 21:00 in Lisbon. The hosts are third in Portugal and Suárez has nine goals in ten games.
Sporting CP welcomes LASK today at the José Alvalade (21:00) chasing a third Champions League win and extending their unbeaten run this season. As Mundo Deportivo reports, the hosts arrive on the back of victories over Galatasaray (3-1) and Lens (0-2), and sit third in the league with no defeats in their first eight matches.
Up front, Luis Suárez is driving the side: he has scored nine goals in ten official games, including two in the Champions League. The Austrian visitors come with the need to respond after a disappointing European start, though they’ve been strong domestically, ranking third and smashing Austria Lustenau 4-0, with Christoph Lang leading the way (7 league goals in nine outings).
Rui Borges has to manage absences of Rodrigo Zalazar, Nuno Santos and Zeno Debast. The clash also carries history for Sporting: LASK won at José Alvalade 1-4 in the Europa League 2020 qualifying round.
