Sporting opens Mareo training session to fans

Sporting Gijón has decided to bring fans closer to matchday: as Sport reports, the club will open its final training session of the week to the public ahead of Sunday’s trip to Carlos Tartiere.

The plan is straightforward. The rojiblanco side says the session will be free for supporters and is scheduled for this Saturday at 10:45 at El Molinón. That will be the chance for the stands to see the team’s work before heading out on Sunday.

Open doors at Mareo

The club also backed the initiative with the involvement of its latest summer signing. Antonio Casas, who recently found the net against Andorra, appears in a video shared on social media where he invites fans to the Mareo facilities.

In the clip, Casas delivers the message: “Afición, ya lo ven, tenéis las puertas abiertas. Nos vemos en Mareo”, according to Sport, before joining the squad’s routine.

With this, Sporting is turning the pre-match training into a fan event right before a key away test. The Saturday session is the main public stop before the match at the Tartiere.
