Sporting pay for derby: Iosifov and Gelabert miss next match

Sporting de Gijón is still feeling the Asturias derby impact at the Carlos Tartiere: after losing to Real Oviedo, Nikita Iosifov was forced off before halftime with physical discomfort and later confirmed on social media that he will miss the coming weeks. The winger had contributed a goal and an assist in the first seven league matches.

Fallout for the next game

Meanwhile, César Gelabert will not be available due to the sending-off that swung the match to the home side. With the Argentine coach unable to count on his “10”, Sporting faces Celta Fortuna at El Molinón.

The absences also include Bruno Rubio, Konrad de la Fuente and Andrés Ferrari, still working their way back from injury. On the positive side, Nicolás Larcamón may be able to welcome back Hugo Guillamón, who has returned to training after getting injured in his debut over a month and a half ago, as reported by MARCA.
