Tajon Buchanan suffers injury: Villarreal confirm right hamstring issue

Villarreal have confirmed Tajon Buchanan’s muscular injury through a club statement. After medical tests on Thursday, the Canadian winger was diagnosed with a problem in the right hamstring (bíceps femoral), with the expected time out set to depend on how he evolves.

Buchanan returned from international duty after picking up the injury in his team’s second match. Villarreal also flag it as a significant loss: he had been a regular starter for Iñigo Pérez and was used on the left wing.

With him sidelined, the coach will need to find a replacement, while Alberto Moleiro has moved into the number ten/central midfield role (mediapunta).
