Take Kubo (Real Sociedad) revives his talisman record: 26 goals
After Málaga, Real Sociedad keep rolling: 22 wins and 3 draws when Kubo scores or assists, the best run in club history.
Real Sociedad’s big Málaga win brought Take Kubo back into the spotlight after a long goalless spell. As Mundo Deportivo notes, the club’s best-ever run linked to his impact is backed by a standout figure: he has 26 goals in 25 different matches with the txuri urdin shirt, and Real Sociedad never lost in the games where he found the net.
Before the comeback, Kubo had gone 10 months without scoring in 2026. His last goal came in December 2025 under coach Ansotegi, and even then the Real could only draw—after a penalty was awarded in the 95th minute.
The latest strike fits a broader pattern: the 22-23 season began with a winning goal against Cádiz on matchday 1, followed by eight more in 23-24 and seven in 24-25, while last term left two; this season he has one so far.
His “talismán” label travels with him too. With Japan, his seven goals have come in wins, with no draws. In assists, Transfermarkt puts him at 23 in 22 league games, with 15 wins, six draws and just one defeat (the 2-3 vs Villarreal). And when he both scores and provides an assist, it’s been a clean sweep: six wins in six such matches, most recently on Sunday at Málaga.
