Tasende is a doubt with muscle issues as El Jebari nears return

Córdoba CF is set for a tense medical week after losing last Saturday to Almería (0-2) at El Arcángel. As Sport reports, the club’s main concern has a name: Dani Tasende. The Coruñan left-back had to withdraw from the derby due to muscle discomfort.

The doubt for Albacete

Sport says Tasende trained this Tuesday separately from the group, starting his sixth individual workload plan. There are two more sessions before the squad travels to face Albacete this Friday. The club’s aim is to increase his workload gradually during the week, but without pushing him—because worsening the issue could mean a longer spell on the sidelines.

The problem was already hinted at by Iván Ania after the match. Sport quotes him: «The change was requested by him; he couldn’t continue. I saw him pulling back during several moments of the game and after the first half he asked for the substitution». The coach also confirmed the discomfort prevented Tasende from finishing the contest.

El Jebari brings good news

On the positive side, Sport highlights Salim El Jebari. The Hispano-Moroccan forward arrived injured with a persistent tendency towards pubalgia, and has spent this time outside competitive availability. He missed pre-season and the first five league matchdays. If he keeps progressing, he could be included in a squad for the first time since joining the club.

If Tasende is unable to make it for Friday’s game against Albacete, Sport notes Córdoba have several backup options for the left side—options that were already used during the season: Diego Bri, the in-game switch of Albarrán, Egoitz Muñoz (with a slimmer case), and Álex López, a natural left-back from the academy.
