Thibaut Courtois close to extending his Real Madrid renewal to 2028
Real Madrid wants to secure one extra season for the Belgian keeper, after he signed through 2027 last summer.
Real Madrid is pushing to extend Thibaut Courtois’s contract to 2028, even though the Belgian already prolonged his deal last summer, keeping him at the club through 2027. The idea is to add one more year after that renewal.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the extension is very close to being wrapped up, and the negotiations align with Courtois’s willingness to stay at the club. Fabrizio Romano highlighted how advanced the talks are.
On top of that, Real Madrid continues scouting the market for a goalkeeper replacement. The timing matters because when his current deal ends, Courtois will be 36.
