Thorgan Hazard finally scores for Lens in win over Paris FC
Left-footed finish at the 83rd minute from a Thauvin cross: his first goal of the season, seven games after joining on a free from Anderlecht.
Thorgan Hazard has finally found the net this season. The Belgian was the hero for Lens in their 2-1 win over Paris FC on Saturday, in matchday 8 of Ligue 1. With seven minutes left, he got between the Paris centre-backs to fire a left-footed shot across goal from a cross by captain Florian Thauvin, beating Nkambadio. According to RMC Sport, it was his first goal for the club he came back to after leaving Anderlecht as a free agent, following seven appearances without scoring.
In the mixed zone, Hazard spoke of relief: the goal lifts his spirits and the team's morale too. He admitted the start to the season has not been easy, and recalled that Lens wanted to extend their league run and bounce back from their Champions League defeat.
His message was about perseverance: returning to the club where it all started has not gone as he expected, but he insists that through daily work and never giving up, results come.
