Tiago Santos, Lille’s right-back, left on a stretcher after suffering a right-knee injury in the 1-0 win over Le Havre on Saturday. The problem came just as he had started to regain match rhythm two years after a devastating left-knee injury.
As reported by L'Équipe, the incident happened during a phase involving Tanguy Nianzou, a defender who had been given a chance after arriving from Sevilla FC. Santos tried to control with his right leg, but his foot stayed stuck in the turf when Amir Richardson collided with him from behind.
Lille also have a shortage of depth in that role, which is why the concern is high.
