Union Saint-Gilloise: Florucz and Zorgane miss Real due to bans
Ahead of Thursday’s Real match, Union Saint-Gilloise will be without Raul Florucz and Adem Zorgane in Europe after being sent off in Norway.
Union Saint-Gilloise head into Thursday’s match vs Real with a sour taste after the Lovaina derby, but the big issue is sporting: they won’t be able to call on Raul Florucz and, above all, Adem Zorgane for the European tie.
Both players were shown straight red at the end of the Champions qualifying match against Bodo-Glimt in Norway. The referee sent them off and they each received two-game bans, meaning they missed the first matchday versus Viktoria Plzeň, which finished 0-3, and they’ll also miss Real.
Two absences in midfield
Zorgane’s absence is particularly significant because of his impact in the middle of the pitch. Florucz is not usually in the starting XI, but he has four league goals and two in the Champions qualifying.
They’ll also be without Ivan Pavlic and Anouar Ait El Hadj for a different reason: they can’t be registered for the European squad. Van De Perre is back after serving his suspension for the same Norway incident.
