Vicky López rules out with injury for Clasico vs Real Madrid
Barça coach Pere Romeu confirmed the forward won’t make the squad for the first Clasico of the season.
Vicky López (Barcelona) will miss the first Clasico against Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou due to a myofibrillar injury in the right rectus anterior, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. The Barça forward will not be included in the matchday squad.
Pere Romeu said her availability is still restricted: “No ha entrenado y no estará disponible,” adding that “Ayer entrenó, pero no acabó la sesión y hoy no ha entrenado, por lo que mañana no estará disponible.” The club’s recovery timeline was two weeks.
She also won’t travel with the Spain national team. The federation did call her despite Barça not having her for the Champions trip to Rome, but Romeu tied her final inclusion to how she felt before the match against Madrid.
