Ville Koski returns to Vitoria injured: out with right thigh

Ville Koski, Deportivo Alavés centre-back, has returned to Vitoria after picking up an injury with Finland: he has a problem in his right quadriceps and will be checked by the club’s medical staff.

As MARCA reports, the defender will undergo several tests to determine how serious the issue is, but Quique Sánchez Flores already has to prepare this Saturday’s league match against Atlético de Madrid without him.

Koski had started Finland’s first two games. He played 45 minutes in the 0-7 win over San Marino and went the distance versus Belarus (0-0). However, yesterday against Albania he was not in the starting mix, which raised the alarm.

With him sidelined, the coach will have to reshuffle the heart of the defence. Valentini and Jonny are the main options alongside Tenaglia, and Quique may need to call up the academy player Xanet to fill out the squad, with Protesoni also an alternative if necessary.
