Vinícius and Real Madrid complain after four-match ban is announced late

Discipline committee’s timetable: the Hispanidad holiday and Article 24 of the disciplinary code.

José Mourinho and Vinícius Júnior (Real Madrid) questioned the time the four-match ban was communicated. Mundo Deportivo says the committee delayed its announcement due to the public holiday and the timing rules in the disciplinary code.

The key is Article 24: the right of audience expires at 14:00 on the second business day after the match. Because last Monday was a holiday (Hispanidad), that deadline moved to Wednesday, when the affected parties had until 14:00 to file their submissions.

The committee met immediately once the window closed and issued the decision to keep the clubs’ legal deadlines on track—so Real Madrid and others could appeal in time. Apelación runs until 15:00 on Thursday, and the next step for requesting a precautionary measure at the TAD has to happen before 12:00 on Friday.
