Vinícius sent off: CTA won’t review the incident in Real Madrid-Villarreal
VAR flagged possible violent conduct, Muñiz Ruiz cancelled the goal and sent off Vinícius; the ban is expected to be official Wednesday
VAR asked the referee to check Vinícius’ goal incident in Real Madrid-Villarreal for possible “violent conduct”, leading Muñiz Ruiz to overturn the strike and then show a red card to the Real Madrid forward. As MARCA reports, the CTA did not comment on that specific play during the programme Tiempo de Revisión.
The CTA selected three other matchday incidents in LaLiga:
- the red card for Ángel Pérez in Alavés-Villarreal
- the penalty awarded to Real Betis vs Osasuna
- the penalty and the red card for Pablo Marín in Real Sociedad-Deportivo
The Vinícius sanction is due to be confirmed this Wednesday, and if it’s more than a one-match ban he will miss the Clasico at the Camp Nou.
