Willian Pacho (PSG) avoids major injury after front hit vs Barcelona

The PSG centre-back took two head knocks in the Champions League 4-2 on Tuesday; Luis Enrique will await tests on Wednesday.

Willian Pacho, a PSG defender, finished with a large swelling on his forehead after taking two head blows in the 4-2 win over FC Barcelona on Tuesday in the Champions League. Still, the Ecuadorian was spared a serious injury.

In the first half, he went in with his head to clear a ball before a foot hit him directly in the upper head area, leaving the visible bump. After the break, during an aerial duel with Gavi, he again got the ball away with his head before contact with his forehead against the back of the Spaniard’s head.

The match also brought multiple injury scares for PSG: Ousmane Dembélé was hurt in his left thigh, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia complained about a knee issue, and Marquinhos stopped after a run. As RMC Sport reports, Luis Enrique declined to diagnose, saying on Wednesday further tests will determine the nature and severity of the injuries.
