Xavi Espart agrees Barcelona contract renewal to June 30, 2030

FC Barcelona and Xavi Espart have reached a complete agreement to renew his contract until June 30, 2030. The midfielder, who was previously tied to 2028, will wear shirt number 12 after earning a spot in Hansi Flick’s first-team plans.

Espart marked his first-team start with a goal against Levante last season. This campaign, he’s become a key piece in Flick’s system, operating as a full-back on either side, even though his natural role is in midfield.

The formal signing ceremony will happen later, when the sporting calendar allows. Joan Laporta will attend, and Espart will be available to the media. After playing with the Spain Under-21 squad during the international break, he has returned to first-team training with his focus on the LaLiga match against Getafe.
