Xavi Simons (Tottenham) enrolls at Harvard as he recovers
The 23-year-old has been sidelined since April’s ACL rupture and now joins a Harvard online business programme.
Tottenham says Xavi Simons has enrolled on a course at Harvard while continuing his recovery from a long-term knee injury. The 23-year-old Netherlands midfielder has been out since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in April, an injury that also kept him out of the World Cup.
As BBC Sport reports, Simons has joined Harvard’s Crossover into Business programme, an online course designed for professional athletes to build commercial skills. The format pairs athletes with Harvard MBA students for mentorship through practical case studies and enterprise management.
Simons said that during rehabilitation he’s been trying to make the most of his time: football remains his main focus, but he also wants to learn the business side of the game. He recently travelled to the United States to step up his physical work and visit the Boston campus, insisting, “Getting back on the pitch is still my number one priority.”
