Xerez CD vs Cádiz derby returns in the Copa at Chapín after 18 years
The draw sets Xerez CD–Cádiz in the Copa del Rey: it will be played at Chapín between Oct 27 and 29.
The Copa del Rey brings back the provincial derby: Xerez CD host Cádiz at Chapín after more than 18 years without an official meeting. The last time they played was in April 2008, again at the Xerez ground, when the home side won 2-1.
Monday’s draw in Las Rozas paired the Segunda Federación side with Albert Celades’ Cádiz. In the most recent league outings, Xerez opened their win column with a 2-1 victory over Tenerife B in Abel Segovia’s debut, while Cádiz thrashed Leganés 4-0.
The tie will be played between October 27 (Tuesday) and October 29 (Thursday), according to MARCA.
