Yann Sommer returns as Inter host Club Brugge on Tuesday
Inter vs Club Brugge kicks off at 21:00 in the Champions League as both chase their first points after matchday one.
Inter host Club Brugge on Tuesday at 21:00 at San Siro with Yann Sommer set to protect the visitors’ goal. The Swiss goalkeeper—who wore the Inter shirt until a few months ago—comes after his team lost to Aston Villa in the Champions League opener.
Sommer, the reunion
Inter also started the campaign with a defeat, after visiting Real Madrid. Still, both sides arrive in good spirits following wins in Serie A and the Jupiler Pro League right after the international break.
Starting XI and injury doubts
Stefano Chivu rotated on Saturday and gave rest to key players, including Lautaro Martínez, who played only half an hour against Parma. For Tuesday’s clash, the expectation is a stronger first XI. However, muscle problems leave doubts over John Stones and Curtis Jones.
Spanish faces are also expected to be involved: Josep Martínez in goal for Inter and Jan Virgili operating on the left flank for Club Brugge. The referee is Rohit Saggi (Norway), as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
